Work Preparer (40 hours per week).

1. ORGANIZATION

Reports hierarchically to the Head of AIT or Head of Production Launcher Structures and operationally to an AIT Manager or Team Leader.

2. PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Responsible for an integrated planning of activities within the AIT department, including the allocation of staff and facilities for assigned projects. Facilitating projects by organizing necessary (logistical) matters before the start of the project, including work instructions. Introducing and guiding (digital) improvement initiatives.

3. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans work on a high level, in the long term and in detail; Monitors work sequences, lead times, and utilization of staff and resources.
  • Adjusts the planning in case of changes and coordinates the consequences with stakeholders.
  • Manages planning methodologies: identifies improvement opportunities, initiates adjustments, coordinates changes, implements improvements, and monitors execution.
  • Identifies bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement(Continuous Improvement), prepares solutions and improvement proposals, and introduces them.
  • Identifies obstacles, documents them, and prepares alternative solutions.
  • Initiates the withdrawal of necessary materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Transfers inventory parts to project needs in the MRP system.
  • Creates Request Purchase Orders at the request of AIT Managers or Team Leaders.
  • Monitors KPIs(Key Performance Indicators).
  • Conducts second-line troubleshooting for machines and/or tools and performs minor adjustments to software or hardware. Checks technical drawings.
  • Prepares work instructions and procedures for assembly and testing activities.
  • Drafts complete task descriptions and ensures readiness reports.
  • Prepares required documentation, for example, for logistics to enable shipments.

4. INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Internal:

  • With direct colleagues, AIT Managers, Work Package Managers, Team Leaders, and Head of AIT / Head of Production to align work and provide advice.
  • With colleagues from Project Management Office (PMO), Procurement, Logistics, and Engineering for coordination.

External:

  • With colleagues within Airbus to exchange knowledge in the field of Manufacturing Engineering (work preparation).
  • With external experts to exchange knowledge on planning methodologies and software systems.
