32–40 hours | Amersfoort / Hybrid | Energy market | 01-02-2026| Six months with option to extend

Working in the Cloud is becoming more important every day. This also applies to our Development teams. With your digital skills and connecting power, you play a major role in making this happen.

Be the indispensable link in the energy market
Work with energy
WatchDog is a team within the IT Foundation value stream. The team is responsible for the Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Observability. These services are used by the EDSN DevOps teams to develop agile systems to support the Dutch energy market. An essential part of the solutions our team offers is Self Service (preferably declarative via GitOps). This means that teams can use the building blocks without being directly dependent on us. Our team is service-oriented and has a lot of contact with other teams, so we also pay attention to the necessary soft skills.

In addition to Watchdog, his team Atlas, Base64, WhoAmI, CRT, and Fundamentum are part of this value stream. Atlas's scope is cloud (AWS) infrastructure, Base64's scope is generic building blocks for integration, and WhoAmI is responsible for Identity & Access Management. Fundamentum is involved in data engineering and data analytics. CRT is responsible for the container runtime where the applications land.

A key aspect of IT Foundation is delivering building blocks that ensure business agility and speed of realization (time-to-market). In short, agile solutions that can be developed in rapid, short, and small iterations (integrate early & integrate often + working complex systems evolve from simple working systems).

We are a
  • A friendly, motivated team of nine specialists who are easy to approach, both within the department and throughout the entire company—it's such a pleasure to work with them!
  • We have a regular office day on Thursdays. In addition, we expect you to be willing to work a second day in the office as well.
  • EDSN operates entirely on the basis of SAFE.

This is what you will do
  • Improvements to our CI/CD platform (Gitlab):
You will develop and refine our CI/CD platform with the aim of enabling teams within the company to work more efficiently and achieve better results. By constantly iterating and improving, you will help create a robust and flexible technological foundation.
  • Management of our Kubernetes platform (AWS EKS):
As the administrator of our own K8S platform for CI/CD, you will ensure that pipelines for the DevOps teams run securely, reliably, and on time. You will perform regular maintenance and implement best practices to ensure that the gateway performs optimally.
  • Expansion of CI/CD platform capabilities: You will work on expanding the CI/CD infrastructure to meet the growing demand from the DevOps teams. By ensuring scalability and reliability, you will contribute to the resilience of the system.
  • Collaboration and backlog management: You work closely with the team and the product owner to ensure that the backlog of tasks is properly managed and prepared for execution. Through effective communication and planning, you ensure that the team can achieve its goals and deliver value to the organization.
  • Collaboration with DevOps teams: You will collaborate with other DevOps teams to ensure that the building blocks and infrastructures developed are seamlessly aligned with the needs of other teams. Through consultation and collaboration, you will help create an integrated ecosystem of tools and processes.
  • Implementation of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps process: You will build and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to get applications to production quickly and reliably. Using a declarative GitOps process, such as helmet and argo, you automate deployments and ensure consistent and repeatable releases.
Driven to make an impact
This is what energizes you
You are a versatile Platform Engineer with a can-do attitude, inspired by an innovative environment like the one we have at team Watchdog. You are a DevOps engineer who truly takes ownership of the work you deliver.
