Role description and task arrangements

Social Domain Consultant
(32-36 hours)

Collaborate on Hengelo!
A city with ambitions is never done. And that's good, because it means there is always movement. For people who see opportunities, for people who want to roll up their sleeves, there is much to do in Municipality Hengelo. The city of Hengelo is a true manufacturing town with a rich history of entrepreneurship. You can build on us, you can build with us. Because we are ambitious. Together we want to make even more of it.

What will you do?
In recent years, there have been issues around Social Security that have changed and need to be implemented at municipalities. Two topics that stand out at the moment are the single-earner issue and the remittance attachment. In the position of Social Domain consultant, you will work independently on specific issues such as these.

Single-earner problem
Due to a confluence of taxation, social security and benefits, a group of people are missing out on benefits. As a result, their income is below the subsistence level. They have a lower disposable income than a comparable household on full welfare benefits. The municipality will compensate these households. As a Social Domain consultant, you will approach clients who may belong to this group and support them in gathering the necessary information. You then assess whether the client is eligible for compensation and calculate the amount. You report your findings and send the client a decision. You help the resident from start to finish to rectify (where necessary) this situation.

Who are we looking for?
You are a professional with a legal, administrative background and you find challenge in searching, analyzing and solving legal/administrative issues. You have an affinity with the subject of attachments and benefits. It is an advantage if you have experience with single-earner issues and attachments. You master the material quickly and work well independently.

  • You have HBO working and thinking level and preferably a legal/administrative background;
  • You have experience in the social field;
  • You are customer-oriented;
  • You have knowledge and experience with the Participation Act, the General Administrative Law Act, Income Tax Act and the Awir;
  • It is an advantage if you have experience in calculating benefits (around single-earner issues) and garnishments.
  • You have knowledge of social security;
  • You are familiar with Suite from Centric;
  • You are sensitive, proactive and flexible;
  • You enjoy working independently.

What do we offer?
  • We offer you a challenging job for 32-36 hours per week.
  • You will have a temporary contract for the duration of the project (current estimate; 3 months).
  • An interesting position in an enthusiastic team;
  • Lots of room for own initiative;
  • Fresh fruit from local entrepreneurs every day;
  • A flexible, modern and inspiring environment in the beautiful downtown City Hall.
