Team IO is a DevOps team within EDSN in the IT Foundation value stream. Together with the other teams, we are responsible for a mature platform on which all kinds of services related to energy data can be delivered. Team IO is responsible for the File Gateway, which is the system that enables the secure exchange of large data sets and files between organizations active in the energy market.

The File Gateway is seeing increasing adoption, with more and more DevOps teams within EDSN connecting their systems to it. We are continuing to develop the system based on their feedback and our roadmap. We deliver new features and improvements on a weekly basis via the CICD pipelines.

We are a

  • Driven specialist and small team, easily approachable, within the department but also throughout the company, that works so nicely!
  • We work in the office most Mondays and Thursdays. At the same time as the other teams in the IT Foundation value stream.
  • EDSN operates entirely on the basis of SAFE.

This is what you will do
  • Designs, builds and runs various backend systems across EDSN's landscape.
  • Ensures appropriate (minimum) documentation, reporting and formalization;
  • Contributes actively to design and refinement sessions;
  • Applies best practices in security, quality and availability;
  • Contributes to automated quality controls in CI/CD pipeline;
  • Create and execute automated unit and integration tests;
  • Participates in the regular DevOps incident management process.
  • supported colleagues and external organizations integrating with their applications on the File Gateway.

You take this further
  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated working experience with Java (including version 17+) and Spring Boot;
  • Experience using design patterns and methodologies and an opinion on Clean Code;
  • Understanding different levels of testing (unit testing, functional testing, API testing, mocking, end-to-end testing).

Nice to haves
  • Knowledge of React and Typescipt are big pluses; the File Gateway has a GUI for end users based on React.
  • Knowledge and experience with AWS S3 and its access management; this forms the basis of the storage layer under the File Gateway.
  • Experience with build & deployment tools such as: Terraform, Helm, Maven, GIT, Docker;
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and activation processes;
  • Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining OTAP development chains and tooling;
  • Understanding API implementations such as REST;
  • Understanding logging and monitoring with Elastic, LogStash, Kibana and Grafana;
  • Understanding end-to-end testing with Cucumber;
  • Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and scripting;
  • Experience working in a SAFe/Agile environment;
  • Experience in the energy sector; preferably with at least one of the network operators
