As Public Space Project Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to a liveable and future-proof municipality. You ensure that projects run smoothly, monitor progress and bring people and interests together. With us you work on public space and a green, healthy living environment for all inhabitants.
As a Public Space Project Manager, you will be responsible for setting up, directing, monitoring and adjusting projects in our outdoor space. This includes the construction and replacement of roads and bicycle/pedestrian paths, sewers, greenery, lighting and traffic measures. We are currently working on various sustainable and climate-adaptive projects such as climate squares, circularity and the further greening of our municipality.
In this position, you will work with a core project team of various subject matter experts such as the civil engineer, communications consultant, environmental manager, supervisor and superintendent. You are part of team Fixtures with mainly project leaders and (project) supporters. Sharing knowledge and strengthening each other are important elements in this team.
Within the core project teams, you facilitate project-based collaboration. You shape the work processes and adjust where necessary. In doing so, you do not lose sight of the project goals. By working in projects you come to a supported plan with an integral approach. Beforehand, you will make a well-considered assessment of interests with the clients. This results in the project assignment.
During a project, you actively liaise with the official and administrative client on the predetermined project goals. Within your projects you are responsible for the project progress and the monitoring of finances. You report to the clients. You are the link between residents, administrators and interest groups.

- You have at least a completed college degree in civil engineering.
- You have at least 10 years of experience as a public space project manager with a municipality.
- You have experience in leading civil engineering projects.
- You are able to shift gears at the managerial and political levels.
- You keep an overview, work in a planned and structured way, are tenacious and think in solutions.
- Realization in accordance with project requirements, monitoring the scope and managing project risks is right up your alley.
- You have experience with and can advise on the various contract forms and construction organization forms.
- You have proven practical experience in managing, monitoring and adjusting contracts.
- You have experience in the general conditions UAV 2012 - UAV gc 2005.
