At EDSN, you contribute to making the Netherlands more sustainable. Every day. Together with our partners in the energy sector. The sustainability and energy transition that is in full swing brings with it a host of challenges.
With your knowledge of testing and test automation, you and your team will ensure well-functioning software and error-free data. In this way you play a crucial role in the progress of our organization and thus of the sector. And you make a positive contribution to social challenges. We have big ambitions and that is why we are looking for you!
As a Test Engineer, you will work with your scrum team to quickly realize features and stories. It is important that these are of high quality, because when errors occur they can impact the already congested power grid. You are able to determine which test approach and test scenarios are necessary and help the team to monitor quality. You are strong in test automation and can properly automate test scenarios independently, but also together with the developers.
You realize that your work as a Test Engineer starts already at the refinement stage. Here you give input with your critical eye on the requirements to be realized and help to work them out in scenarios. You think about what and how to test. You understand what working in a DevOps organization means in terms of testing and are familiar with modern testing techniques. And take your team members along in a continuous quality focus.
In addition to working in your team, we believe it is important that you continue to share and gain knowledge from peers within EDSN. This is why we work with Community of Practices where Test Engineers from all teams meet regularly to discuss new developments, share knowledge and continuously see how things can be improved within EDSN. This way we keep improving continuously!
This is what you will do:
Actively promote a quality and testing first mindset within the team
Establish and manage test scenarios and record results
Building, expanding and maintaining automated tests
You integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines
You make proposals to make the test process, (automated) testing, test data generation and reporting more efficient and effective
Advise the team regarding quality improvements
Maintain strong collaboration with your team and Test Engineers in the organization
You support and advise on the design of the testing strategy
Coaching developers on the team in the areas of testing and test automation
You ensure that you are up to date with the latest developments in your field at all times, and;
You are active in the testing community within EDSN
Quality is in your heart and soul. If you do something you want to do it well. Continuous improvement of processes and techniques is therefore a matter of course for you. You enjoy stimulating cross-team cooperation and coaching your colleagues. With your motivating feedback, you facilitate the best improvement initiatives. You are critical and accurate and like to share knowledge and bring your team to a higher level.
This is what we expect from you:
You are a tester who does not turn his hand to code or a developer who enjoys dealing with testing and test automation.
At least college working and thinking level towards IT, completed with relevant certificates
Extensive testing experience in a complex environment
Development experience that enables you to use modern testing tools such as Cypress or PlayWright.
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Proven knowledge of modern agile testing methods and techniques
You are familiar with test approach models such as TMAP, ISTQB and/or Agile Tester
Hands-on experience working in an Agile/Scrum/DevOps environment
You understand that testing and quality is a team effort and can bring others into this.
You are results-oriented, proactive, assertive and possess persuasive and communication skills both verbally and in writing
